If your Nine Birds jewelry ever becomes damaged over time, I will happily repair it for you, free of charge! Please reach out via the contact page if you need some work done. I do not offer repairs for jewelry made by other artists at this time.

Though Nine Birds pieces are made to be sturdy for every day wear, it is always impossible to say your jewelry will never become damaged or worn over time. Treat your jewelry delicately and follow the care instructions below to ensure it has a long, beautiful life!

Many of our pieces are made with gold-filled, silver plated/filled, or brass elements, which can become tarnished over time. Water, sweat, lotion, makeup, and products like hairspray can all shorten your jewelry’s lifespan if they come in contact with brass or plated elements! Silver-plated and silver-fill elements will retain their shine better the more you wear them. To keep your jewelry looking as fabulous as the day you received it, treat it delicately and wipe gently with a soft cloth after wearing. Store in a clean, dry place where it is not rubbing up against other pieces of jewelry.

Brass pieces develop a darker patina over time. To return them to their original shine, polish with a brass-cleaning solution such as Simichrome or Brasso. Gently clean the solution from your piece with hand soap and dry thoroughly. Avoid getting cleaning solution on any gemstone elements in your piece.

Custom alterations to existing pieces, such as using different stones or metals than the ones listed, is almost always possible with a small charge to accommodate any difference in material price. My ability to complete more complicated custom orders depends on the scope of the project you have in mind. If you’d like to request an alteration on an existing product, or if you would like to discuss your ideas with me and receive a quote on a more complex piece, please reach out via the contact page.
